Race 6 - Laguna Seca

2 things you should know this week:

1. If you are not listed in the starting lineup it is because you have missed the last 2 races. If you want to compete just post a message and I will put you in but please show up.

2. These lobbies could change and probably will so please check back and please be patient on race night.

I will be in South Louisiana working starting Tuesday and I probably won't be back till Friday...or Saturday. If I am finished working on time Wednesday...I will try and make this race on my hotel's internet...but I don't know if it will even let me sign on to Live Might need to have someone else host Lobby 1 just in case.

I generally love this track, but I seem to be having trouble getting this car to agree with me... I feel slow as molasses here.

Good! Well you ought to be somewhere around my lobby so I will keep an eye out. We will have to juggle things based on who shows up.

I already took care of it...He is in your lobby Viper.

Got my time down to 1:35.6 and pretty consistent in the high 35's. Course I see mikem has popped off a 34.4 ... I can see a low 35 for me as it is all in putting a decent lap and then nailing the turn 11 entry right and not going too deep like I usually do on two successive laps (which never happens for me).

Sorry I missed the race, Guys! Got home from work about 6:30 PM Eastern, had dinner, and passed out a little after seven. Didn't wake up until this morning! LOL!!

Wow is all I can muster about the race we had in lobby 2! All of our total race times suffered for it but it was was the most fun, edge of my seat racing I have had in a long time and it lasted through lap 14. Just so you know, when you see me run Shooter into the tires he was telling me "On your left, On your left", so I went right and he got put in the tires. LOL, do all the English have trouble with their right and left.

Lothar, I think it's just a Shooter thing.

Lobby 3 had some good racing, I just wish my 34.8XX would have shown up as my fastest lap. Oh and Sponge, sorry I was wrong I ran that lap chasing down Onabreak, not you. I put the replay on my storefront, search Focus Cup - Laguna. It took us to our third restart to get it done, but it was a nice hard fought race. All I have to say is, wish we had an all Laguna race series, maybe swapping the cars each week, but just keeping it Laguna; I love this track man!

Still can't believe I finished in 7th overall!

The results for this race are under review until I post again. Sorry dudes but I noticed something on a replay that I don't like but it needs a few opinions.

Disaster for me. This course is not my favourite anyway, but I had to park my car on the side of the raod, leave the race and let the wife in.
She forgot her bloody key and could not get in the house !! . As you can imagine, this pretty much ruined my race, as I was lapped
by everybody.

Did all lobbies pit?
It can be confusing sometimes since we didn't have to pit in the last race.

Yes Stephane... I have been there and struggled with the problem for a year watching my performance relative to other drivers sink lower and lower.

The Equipment is solid and has a general good feel but Braking is a disaster. I simply have been unable to hit my marks. In other threads I had commented that I recently figured out some things and its all about braking. First - TURN OFF ABS for every car and every race. Never turn it back on. Get used to how it feels and you will be faster. Second - Turn the sensitivity up on the pedals (the small knob on the pedals clockwise - less important but helps). (I also tried adjusting the pedal throw last year but that only made it worse so I wouldn't bother). Third - then play with the brake pressure settings in a car setup to figure out where you are comfortable. With those changes you will note MUCH less pressure is required to stop the car. It takes some getting used to and you will occasionally lock em up if you are careful but it will be worth it getting used to no ABS. I am finally getting back to near where I used to be relative to other drivers. I still am not as consistent with braking but definitely improving. Now rather than feeling like I had to push the pedal through the floor to stop, it take just light brief pressure and it is much quicker and easier to hit your braking marks. Hopefully that will shorten your adaptation to the wheel set... I hate to think others have to put up with the frustration I have felt over the past year trying to figure out this expensive accessory. Good luck and let me know if you have other questions.

Mayorca, that is not at all the issue. The issue has been reported through the Race Officials' thread, and will be reviewed by them. Once a decision is made, then the points will be tallied. We will update everyone once the incident has been settled.

Ohh boy oh boy, Room 1 was an absolute blast. I was on my game and if I didn't make the mistakes I did, I may have actually had something for Inviseco. Coulda, shoulda, woulda... Haha, congrats to him on a good race win.

To Trooper, Weston, Mikem, and Rodrigo: WHAT A FRIGGEN RACE!!! With my mysteriously laggy connection, great, great racing, side by side, with no contact! Especially me and Trooper, we were really really close but just stayed off eachother. Loved it, though I gave 2nd away twice

Can't wait for next week!
