I have not signed up yet for the Nascar event because I haven't been able to open the NAT. May not race until I get it figured out. I've tried the portforward website but have not been successful. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you can't get port forwarding to work then try the DMZ method. Search DMZ Xbox and there will be several sites with directions. Here is one..

Use your router to set a static ip address. Your MAC address for your Xbox will be printed on a sticker on the back of your Xbox. With the XBox on and connected you will be able to see that MAC address in the DHCP table. You will want to configure the router so that MAC address always is assigned the same ip address on your network (that way you don't have to keep going back and editing the configuration when ip address are reassigned periodically).

Once your Xbox ip address is fixed or static then use the router to set that ip address in a DMZ. That isolates your xbox for Xbox Live but keeps Xbox Live out of your network.

Alternatively you could bypass the issue temporarily by hooking your Xbox directly into your modem. You would then have an open connection to Xbox live. Of course with this bypass, the rest of your network would no longer have internet access until you plugged the router back inot the modem... but its a quick fix.
