Le Mans Endurance Season 1
Hey everyone, the Le Mans Endurance race series is finally ready to be launched. Here are the details:
The Track: Old Mulsanne Circuit-Le Mans
The Date: To be Announced
The Cars: Must be R1 class, cannot be a DLC car, to ensure everyone can see it, must be a race car. i.e. #'s in the name, and sponsors in the name. Also, certain R2 class cars will be allowed, but must be cleared with me first. R2 class cars that are upgraded to R1 will be allowed.
Other Restrictions: You must have the Le Mans Endurance season 1 decal, or its alternate version, visibly on your car. These, plus a list of sponsors, can be found on my storefront for free. If you need an unlocked version because the colors do not show on your car, message me. Your FMC number must also be on your car. If you do not have one, you may pick any number between 01 and 999 to be on your car.
Other Details: Depending on how many people sign up, there may be more than one lobby. If this is the case, I will need additional hosts. I am also considering trying a pace car for the race. Let me know what you guys think of this. Again, if this is the case, I will need volunteers to drive them.
The prizes: The 1st placer, 2nd placer, 3rd placer, and person with the fastest lap time will receive free R1 cars as prizes. One of the official pace cars will also be auctioned off after the race, to whoever wants it.
Thanks again guys, and I am open to comments, please let me know what you think. Also, since the date is not yet set, let me know what works best for you.

Hey buzz,
What are we talking about regarding "endurance" ?. This may dictate times and days to run this.

well, im not for sure what passes for endurance here. I was thinking somewhere in the range of 25-30 laps.

Re: Le Mans Endurance Season 1
Well, most of the series races here are 25 - 30 laps, which take about 40 - 45 mins. I would maybe suggest the endurance race be time based instead of laps and the winner is whoever completes the most laps. Maybe 1 - 1.5 hours. Too long and folks will pass on it.
Just my thoughts.

that could work too, in fact I kinda like that better. we will see what other people think. anyone have any thoughts as far as dates? as soon as we get a date set, I will move this to the series section. I was personally thinking of shooting for spring break, which for me is early march. Would that be too far down the line?

Spring sounds good, I will get the forum section set up in a couple weeks.

Yea I like this idea too, with the thoughts that Asteroid threw out there. I would say right about 2 hours, at least that is what I personally think when I hear endurance. Anything less, just really is not an endurance race.
As for the date, I like Wednesday's after the Focus Cup completes. That give you time to try out cars, and tracks.
One suggestion I would like to throw out there is having it broken up into two different point grids for the two classes - Prototypes, and GTs - that way you can have the two classes running around the track together. I don't like running the prototypes, personally.. too touchy. But I would definitely be up to running a GT R2 class.
**And that is my 2cents. **

One last thing I wanted to add was that you should come up with a car selection to prevent Leaderboard car takeover in the classes that you select.
