Vintage Car Series
How about a series involving the old car greats. cars that were made in the 70s and prior. I love building these old beauties and they look fabulous. We could limit HP to keep them all competative and even have a livery/design comp for the best 70s era looking car.
I have never organised a series before, but just wanted to throw this idea out there.
Re: Vintage Car Series
Sounds great to me. Just need to make sure the cars are competitive with each other.
Re: Vintage Car Series
i came across this site, they have 9 cars all muscle cars all B-500 and all pretty equal with each other, so if we do a series we could use these builds and they also have a set-up to start with.

Sweet!!
Re: Vintage Car Series
I'd definitely run this, but it would need to restrict the use of all wheel drive on these rides to make it completely vintage.

Re: Vintage Car Series
the builds are not all wheel drive....and it would be easy to see if someone messed with the build

Re: Vintage Car Series
I know, we discussed that the other day ring, but I was just saying if not selecting those builds on that url, then we definitely need to leave out all wheel drive. Keep it real ya know.

Re: Vintage Car Series
I Agree, definately no all wheel drive. I was looking over the weekend, and it looks like there could be 2 series. 1 American Muscle and 1 Europe and Asia. It looks to me like you can't mix them both, but hey, sounds like 2 good series to me....MMM
AM DB5 or Nissan fairlady Z......Vette Stingray or Barracuda ?????. Orange or Purple for my livery ???

Re: Vintage Car Series
Well, I'd suggest to talk it over with Redneck, Midnite, or Lothar to see what they think and ask around to see what sort of turn out it might bring.
My personal suggestion that is.

Re: Vintage Car Series
Redneck, I think ringmasters right. The cars are tailor made for the Vintage Muscle series. Some tracks could be Maple Valley Full, Sebring Full, Sunset infield, Camino Full ( could get messy ), Road Atlanta Full, Road America and a closing track for speed of Old Le Mans.
Just some thoughts.
Re: Vintage Car Series
No, the names I mentioned are the guys who admin this site/events. So they are the ones you want to seek out, and make the suggestion to.

Re: Vintage Car Series
The shout out went to Redneck, but I will also ping him Midnite and Lothar on XB live.
Re: Vintage Car Series
Sounds good to me, I looked over the URL real quick, looked like some nice cars, should be a blastThe only thing is if we get the builds from there will we be able to tune them and keep the correct setup, or are we running stock tunes??
Re: Vintage Car Series
Actually they give us the build and a tune to apply to the car. You just have to print it off their website. So I would suggest the builds should be unchangable and Authorized by FMC ?, but folks can apply their own tunes. They are all at a max PI of B500, HP between 446 & 489, weight between 3,334 & 3,477 ILBS all have 4 x 235mm 17" wheels and are normally aspirated.
No front aero and old school rear wing.
Or we can let them build under the HP and weight dimension up to a max PI.
Should be easy to monitor, I think ?? ( not that I would know ).

Re: Vintage Car Series
Yeah we should be able to build rooms that will only allow the proper builds into the room, I think it would be easy enough to regulate the builds or provide locked builds via a storefront and allow tuning. This is going to be Redneck and Lothar's call on this one, they are the masterminds behind the scenes, I am but a lowley pawn in the chess game of life. LMAO
Re: Vintage Car Series
I tested the Charger, and its a nice handling tune, but the braking is awful. But then I didn't run it on Sebring like it suggested. I ran it on Laguna, much different tracks. But overall the handling/speed was actually really nice. So, I wouldn't see those builds being a issue. Oh.. Ring and I found that on the Charger build we were not able to get the exact numbers off all that they mentioned, we had to add to racing parts to the engine to get the exact hp and torque. But everything else worked out as it stated.

Re: Vintage Car Series
I was running the Vette Stingray and Shelby last night and the tunes are good. The Shelby is a little bit slippery for my liking, but in the right hands should be fine. I ran them both at Maple Valley full. Hopefully we can get this up and running.
Re: Vintage Car Series
I don't see why not, but depends on what our admins are doing and if they have time to run this.
